Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject from a UGC-recognized university.

• Minimum Marks Required: General category: 55% marks and SC/ST/OBC/PwD/LGBTQ/Transgender: 50% marks in the qualifying exam
• Provisional Eligibility: Final-year Master’s students or those awaiting results can apply provisionally. The eligibility certificate will be issued only after submitting final marks within the prescribed time.
• PhD Holders’ Relaxation: Candidates who completed both their PhD and Master’s by 19th September 1991 are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks.
• Re-application Restriction: Candidates who have already qualified KSET in a specific subject are not allowed to reapply in the same subject. Reapplying will cancel their earlier eligibility.
